Hello there!

I am Yan Hwee and this is my development blog for my Year 1 Portfolio Project!

In this project, I will be working with my friend, Jeffrey, to create an automatic canteen food ordering system.

What is that?

It is basically a system that enhances the convenience of ordering food in canteens by allowing users to order (and pay) their food using a mobile application.

Why is this so?

As a Poly student, my friend and I have always been facing this dreadful problem during lunch break. CROWDED CANTEENS & LONG QUEUES. Hence, as a solution for this problem, this idea was born.

Hence, this solution will help to reduce the hassle of food ordering and waiting as well as reduce the bustle of food queuing. On a side note, it will also help to facilitate food purchases for users and stall owners. Moreover, it will also encourage the use of digital e-payments (such as PayLah!), which nicely aligns to Singapore's Smart Nation Initiative.
